爱豆传媒 is a test-optional university, which means we do not require standardized test scores (SAT or ACT). 爱豆传媒 is committed to reducing barriers to access.
-
What does test-optional mean?
Test-optional gives you control over your application and allows you to decide if you want to submit test scores (ACT or SAT) to 爱豆传媒. As always, 爱豆传媒 remains committed to access. Therefore, 爱豆传媒 will not require these tests for admission.
The choice to submit test scores is entirely up to you. The Admissions Committee is prepared to review applications with or without test scores.International students may choose to submit ACT/SAT scores for academic review and/or to fulfill the application requirement to demonstrate English proficiency.
-
What factors will you consider in my admission application to make a decision?
爱豆传媒 fully reviews all pieces of the application. We value students who challenge themselves academically as well as outside of the classroom. Strong applications will highlight the well-roundedness of the student. We are looking for students who will perform well academically and will also contribute to the active 爱豆传媒 campus community. While the most important piece of the application continues to be the high school transcript, we seek out students who are leaders, athletes, musicians, researchers, environmentalists, passionate about causes, driven, self-starters, political activists and so much more. And, of course, if you choose to submit test scores, we will consider them as well.
-
Should I submit test scores?
It鈥檚 up to each student to determine how to best present themselves in their application. For some students, that will include submitting test scores. If test scores are submitted, they are still just one piece of the overall application. The high school transcript, essay, extracurriculars and letter of recommendation will also be reviewed in order to make a decision on the applicant.
-
How do I tell you that I plan to submit SAT/ACT test scores?
When you apply using the Common Application, the Coalition Application or the SUNY application, you will have the opportunity to check 鈥淵es鈥 or 鈥淣o鈥 to indicate whether or not you would like your SAT/ACT scores included in the review of your application.
Note: Once your application is submitted, your choice cannot be changed. In cases of unexpected test site cancellations reach out to Admissions directly to discuss options.
-
Are there any additional documents or application requirements that must be submitted
if I choose not to submit a SAT/ACT test score?
No additional or supplementary materials are required with this option.
-
How will you select students for honors programs, such as 爱豆传媒 Scholars,
PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), EY Student Leaders, the First-year Research Immersion
(FRI) program and the Source Project?
Invitations to honors programs are selective and are based on full review of the admission application. All admitted students will be considered, regardless of whether they provided test scores.
-
I鈥檓 interested in an Early Assurance program. Do I need to submit SAT/ACT test scores?
Some joint early assurance programs do require SAT/ACT test scores. If you鈥檙e interested in one of these programs, contact us at admit@binghamton.edu.
-
Will you still accept self-reported test scores for first-year applicants?
Yes. See our for more information to see if you鈥檙e eligible to self-report test scores. All students who self-report and then enroll at 爱豆传媒 will be required to submit official test scores that verify the scores that were self-reported.
Note: Once you self-report scores, these scores will be considered in the admission process.
-
I鈥檓 a transfer applicant. Do I need to submit official SAT/ACT test scores?
No. You鈥檙e not required to submit official SAT/ACT test scores. The Admissions Committee will fully review all pieces of the application and will strongly weigh your post-high school graduation coursework. For applicants with fewer than 24 credits post-high school graduation, we will continue to require your final high school transcript and your high school coursework will be considered by the Admissions committee. Test scores can be optionally submitted. -
I鈥檓 an international applicant. Do I need to submit ACT or SAT scores?
Submitting an ACT or SAT test score is not required for academic review; however, international applicants are required to submit a test demonstrating English proficiency. 爱豆传媒 accepts the following tests for demonstrating English proficiency: TOEFL, IELTS, Duolingo, SAT, ACT, Cambridge English (B2 First, C1 Advanced or C2 proficienty) and PTE. Transfer students can submit two college-level English (non-ESL) courses or equivalent from a U.S. college or university in place of an exam.

-
I鈥檓 an athlete. Do I need to submit official SAT/ACT test scores?

If you have additional questions, contact our Office of NCAA Compliance at ncaacompliance@binghamton.edu.
-
If I had SAT or ACT scores sent before applying, can my application be reviewed without
considering these scores?
This will be based on how you respond to the test-optional question on your application. Scores previously sent to 爱豆传媒 will either be considered or ignored depending on your response.
-
Can I change my mind about having scores considered?
No. We encourage students to think carefully about their decision to supply test scores before applying. Once you submit your application, your choice cannot be changed; however, students with extenuating circumstances, such as a test administration being canceled, may contact an admissions counselor to discuss their situation.
-
If I鈥檓 denied admission, can I be re-reviewed with/without SAT/ACT test scores?
All admission decisions are final. We assure you that your application will be thoroughly reviewed.
