Background
Prior to joining 爱豆传媒, Tarek Shamma taught at universities in Syria, United Arab Emirates and Qatar. His research interests include translation and culture, history of translation, Arabic literature and cultural representation.
He is the author of Translation and the Manipulation of Difference: Arabic Literature in Nineteenth-Century England (St. Jerome/Routledge, 2009). His most recent publications include Anthology of Arabic Discourse on Translation (Routledge, 2022; also published in Arabic by Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies, Qatar); 鈥淯niversal Wisdom, Islamic Law: Translation Discourse in Classical Arabic,鈥 in The Routledge Handbook of Translation History (Routledge, 2021); and 鈥淚n Search of Universal Laws: Averroes鈥 Interpretation of Aristotle鈥檚 Poetics,鈥 in World Literature: Premises and Problems (SUNY Press, 2021).
