Woei-Nan Bair, PT, PhD

Background
Woei-Nan Bair is an assistant professor in the Division of Physical Therapy at °®¶¹´«Ã½'s Decker College of Nursing and Health Sciences. She joined °®¶¹´«Ã½ in September 2024.
Bair received her physical therapy education and practiced in university-affiliated teaching hospitals in Taiwan for over 10 years. She specialized in treating balance and gait issues across the lifespan. To further develop her ability to provide evidence-based interventions, she earned a PhD in movement science and completed two postdoctoral trainings.
Her research involves working in transdisciplinary teams, typically including experts in public health, geriatrics and engineering. She is establishing a laboratory to study mechanisms of falls, balance and gait impairments by inducing falls in a controlled, safe environment, either physically or perceptually using virtual reality.
