Jason Casale
Director of Emergency Management, Stony Brook University
Jason is the Director of Emergency Management, Training and Outreach for Stony Brook University. In his career, Jason has developed his emergency management background in healthcare and New York State government. As an emergency manager for Mount Sinai Brooklyn, he managed several hospital wide projects and the successful Joint Commission Accreditation. Business continuity and resiliency was a focus during Jason’s tenure at the New York State Department of Financial Services. During the height of the COVID pandemic, Jason helped fill many leadership roles for NYS operations based at Stony Brook. Jason led post pandemic efforts to rebuild healthcare resiliency at the New York State Department of Health before going back to the Stony Brook University Police Department where he was formerly a Staff Assistant. Jason is a proud Stony Brook Alumna having received his Bachelors in Economics with a minor in Technological Systems Management. Jason subsequently earned his Masters in Public Administration from Pennsylvania State University and an Advanced Certificate in Terrorism Studies from CUNY John Jay College. Jason holds many other FEMA and professional certifications including the FEMA Professional Development Series, Business Continuity Professional 1 and is a certified NYS EMT.
