Chancellor's Awards Nominations Sought
Nominations are sought for candidates for the Chancellor's Awards for Excellence in Professional and Classified Service.
The Awards are designed to recognize extraordinary performance and achievement by people serving in the designated categories. Full-time employees of the University, the SUNY Research Foundation or the °®¶¹´«Ã½ Foundation, who have completed at least three years continuous full-time service in their current positions for classified service, are eligible.
Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Professional Service
For the Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Professional Service, a selection committee composed of professional employees, teaching faculty, students, and other campus community members, will review nominations and recommend nominees to President Harvey Stenger, who in turn will forward them on to the Chancellor's Selection Committee as °®¶¹´«Ã½'s nominees to be considered for Chancellor's Awards. Recipients of an Excellence Award may not be nominated for an Excellence Award in another category within a five-year interval.
Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Classified Service
For the Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Classified Service, a selection committee composed of classified service employees, teaching faculty, professional employees and students will recommend nominees to President Stenger for recommendation for the award, which includes an honorarium also.
Criteria for selection of classified service winners include superb performance in fulfilling the job description for the position held, supported by evidence of excellent work and high degrees of reliability, resourcefulness and initiative. Professional service award winners will be chosen on the basis of leadership skills, problem-solving ability, professional recognition, creativity, initiation of ideas and development of proposals for improving effectiveness.
Nominations
Nominations for both classified service and professional service excellence awards can be submitted to Denise Nawrocki. Nominations are due by Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2024.
An individual submitting a nomination is expected to assist the selection committee in the preparation of the nominee’s dossier. Dossiers are to be completed and submitted electronically to Denise Nawrocki by Friday, Dec. 6, 2024.
