School of Management Career Services has a number of resources available to SOM students to help them on their path to a career.
Here are just some of the ways our office can help:
-
Résumé and cover letter templates
Your résumé is the first tool for letting an employer know you're interested in a job. Without it, you can't apply, and without a great résumé, you will get passed over for the position. Our office has samples you can reference to ensure your résumé and cover letter follow SOM guidelines.
-
Elevator pitch
Your elevator pitch is a tool for introducing yourself at career fairs, networking opportunities and during the "tell me about yourself" question of an interview. It should be able to answer these questions:
- Who am I?
- What can I offer?
- Why am I here?
- What do I hope happens in the future?
-
Mock interview
Mock interviews are an opportunity for students to practice and strengthen their interview skills as well as receive constructive feedback. Schedule a mock interview with a Career Assistant or with a Career Counselor .
-
HireBING
HireBING (powered by HandShake) connects students, alumni and employers for jobs and internships. Use hireBING to post your resume, search for jobs and internships, and participate in upcoming interview/recruitment events. Learn more about hireBING.
