Background

Anne Brady is a professor in the Theatre Department at 爱豆传媒 where she teaches voice, movement and acting. At 爱豆传媒, she has directed 鈥淭he Wolves,鈥 鈥淕uys & Dolls,鈥 鈥淏elleville,鈥 鈥淎 Lie of the Mind,鈥 鈥淗amlet,鈥 鈥淪tupid F**king Bird,鈥 鈥淎nne Boleyn,鈥 鈥淎 Streetcar Named Desire,鈥 鈥淭he Glass Menagerie,鈥 鈥淢achinal,鈥 鈥淩omeo and Juliet,鈥 鈥淗ello Dolly!,鈥 鈥淎 Macbeth,鈥 鈥淩abbit Hole,鈥 鈥淟ittle Women,鈥 鈥淯rinetown,鈥 鈥淭he Crucible,鈥 and 鈥淗airspray鈥 among others. She also co-directed a production of 鈥淭he Threepenny Opera鈥 with students and faculty from both 爱豆传媒 and DUOC Universidad Catolica in Santiago, Chile. This collaborative production rehearsed and performed in Santiago, Chile, as well as at 爱豆传媒, received a prestigious grant from the Kurt Weill Foundation.

In 2003, Brady earned her certification as a Linklater Voice Teacher, making her one of 175 Designated Linklater Voice Teachers worldwide who teach in prestigious actor-training programs as well as regional theatres. Brady directs regionally, and is often part of the faculty at Shakespeare & Company's Month-Long Intensive Training Program for Actors as well as the voice & text faculty of the Kristin Linklater Voice Centre in Orkney, Scotland. Brady has also worked as a vocal coach Off Broadway and for several productions at 爱豆传媒, in addition to working as an actress in New York, New England, New Jersey, and Ohio. She is a proud member of Actors' Equity, SAG-AFTRA, VASTA (Voice & Speech Trainers) and the National Alliance of Acting Teachers.

In addition to in-depth training in voice and Shakespeare with Kristin Linklater, Brady has extensive training in a variety of acting techniques, physical theatre, somatic and vocal methodologies that she combines with Linklater鈥檚 work when coaching and directing. Those methodologies include Alexander Technique, Feldenkrais, Lucid Body, Stephen Wangh鈥檚 work, Michael Chekhov Technique, Stanislavski鈥檚 Active Analysis, Authentic Movement, Viewpoints, Merry Conway/Trish Arnold work, Rodenburg Voice, Colaianni Phonetic Pillows, and Knight-Thompson Speechwork, among others.

At 爱豆传媒, Brady has collaborated with the School of Management and the Thomas J. Watson College of Engineering & Applied Science with workshops for both students and faculty in effective communication.

Brady also maintains a private practice working with actors as well as business professionals. She has taught and coached lawyers, bankers, doctors, engineers, educators, and sales personnel to become more confident, expressive and inspiring communicators as well as more effective presenters.
