EngiNet Registration and orientation

Both matriculated (degree-seeking) and non-matriculated (non-degree-seeking) students can take EngiNet courses.

Brightspace Learning Management Systems will be used to view lecture videos, read announcements, review class notes, participate in discussions, download lecture materials, and post assignments.

Students interested in auditing courses should go to the Graduate School Manual Enrollment and Registration for instructions.  

All Student Must:

  • Fill out the EngiNet Student Record Card
  • Pay Fees , along with tuition and university fees. All students must pay EngiNet delivery fees for the spring 2024 semester
  • Returning students who did not enroll in spring semester must contact the Graduate School office (607) 777-2151.

Computer Account

Go to to obtain computer accounts, or contact the Computing Center Help Desk by email at helpdesk@binghamton.edu or call at 607-777-6420.

Textbooks

  • Textbooks can be purchased from the University Bookstore or by calling 607-777-2745. You may purchase your textbook from any online bookseller.
  • Read the syllabus posted in Brightspace to see the required textbook.

Online Streaming

  • EngiNet courses are streamed online.
  • Lectures are recorded until 9 p.m. Monday-Thursday. Lectures are posted on the day of recording.
  • Your computer will need a high-speed broadband connection to view a course using streaming.
  • Section 20 (EngiNet students) will be incorporated into sections 01 or 90. It will allow the professor to post information only once into Brightspace.
  • To log in to Brightspace, use your °®¶¹´«Ã½ username and password. If you do not know your login information, access it from .
  • If you have problems streaming, contact the EngiNet office by email at enginet@binghamton.edu or call 800-478-0718. 

Homework Assignments

Homework assignments, projects, or reports can be uploaded into Brightspace or emailed to the teaching assistant (TA).

Exams

  • All EngiNet students must take exams on the same date as on-campus students. If you need additional time, contact the professor (and copy the EngiNet office at enginet@binghamton.edu).

  • Local EngiNet students may be asked to come to campus to take the exam with on-campus students.

Proctors

  • All distance learning students must identify a proctor to administer exams. The proctor must not be closely related to the student (for example, a spouse, relatives, other students or friends). The proctor should be a librarian at a local library, a testing center or a manager at your place of employment.

  • A proctor letter is located in the course management system. Please have the proctor complete the proctor letter and email it back to the EngiNet office (enginet@binghamton.edu).
