Faster computing powers have made it possible for organizations to transform their massive amounts of data into information and apply advanced analytics methods to problems that were impossible to solve even ten years ago. Business analytics uses data, statistical and quantitative analysis, programming, predictive modeling, and optimization to make businesses work better and provide them with competitive advantage.
A concentration in Business Analytics will prepare you to use data, statistical and quantitative analysis, programming, predictive modeling, and optimization techniques to help business work more efficiently and effectively, and to provide them with a strategic competitive advantage.
Requirements to Declare Concentration
As of Fall 2024, earning 56 credits, a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 and a B- or better in CQS 312 is a prerequisite for declaring the concentration. Prior to Fall 2024, earning 56 credits, a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 and receiving an A- or better in CQS 311 was a prerequisite for declaring the concentration.
Concentration Requirements
As of Fall 2024, in addition to the standard curriculum for the BSBA degree, students wishing to fulfill a concentration in Business Analytics are required to complete a total of five courses (specified below). At graduation you must have a combined GPA of 2.7 or higher in your Business Analytics concentration courses to be awarded the concentration. Only courses taken at °®¶¹´«Ã½ or as part of a study abroad program will count towards a concentration GPA.
