THEATRE DEPARTMENT EVENTS CALENDAR
Interested in working backstage, building or working on design or stage managing a show?
Working in the costume and scene shops, backstage, and with top-notch designers, technicians and stage managers on our faculty is an amazing opportunity for students here at °®¶¹´«Ã½. Classes in the design and theater technology and stage management area are being taught in-person for Fall 2024. If you have an interest in scenery, costumes, lighting, sound, technical direction, or stage management - contact Laura Fine Hawkes, head of Design/Technical Area to learn more about classes and opportunities that await you!
All students in the University registered for four credits or more are invited to participate in sanctioned activities of the Theatre Department regardless of official academic emphasis. In addition, freshmen are welcome with the same enthusiasm as graduate students.
Students in all disciplines are eligible to participate in theatre and dance activities in the department from their first day on campus, whether or not they intend to major or actually declare a major in theatre. All a student needs to do is check the bulletin boards near the entrance to the department's main offices (FA-127) and follow the directions for auditioning, doing technical work, etc.
It takes many more people offstage to produce a show! We need students to design, fabricate, program, operate, pattern, sew, schedule, organize, communicate, and run every aspect of our shows....the list of opportunities is long! Interested in joining a crew? Contact our Technical Director, Scott Selmeski n the Scene Shop or Olivia Dilworth in the Costume Shop. Students interested in Stage Management can contact Olivia O'Brien to learn more about classes and practica opportunities in that area!
