Diversifying Coding (D-Coding)
Program Description
D-Coding is a program with goals to diversify computer science and computer engineering, as well as to increase computing skill attainment in data-intensive fields.
In efforts to prepare women and underrepresented minorities for a career in coding, D-Coding seeks to equip all participants with the knowledge and skills that may be used in a myriad of settings, particularly ones that promote public service, human service and social good.
D-Coding incorporates a cohort-based program structure via professional development, hands-on learning experiences, mentoring and networking opportunities, all while providing financial support to eligible participants.

Eligibility
Students wishing to participate in D-Coding program must meet all of the following criteria:
- Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher (4.0 scale)
- Be a citizen or a permanent resident of the U.S.
- Be enrolled in a degree-granting program at the Thomas J. Watson College of Engineering and Applied Science
- Students from underrepresented minority groups, and women are strongly encouraged to apply

How to Apply
Applications must include:
- One letter of recommendation from an individual who can comment authoritatively on your academic achievements and/or professional experiences related to your program.
- Letter of interest
