ABOUT THE COURSE
This is a 7-week online course with a final take home exam given in week 6. This course will cover fundamentals of using ANSYS APDL for engineering simulations. "Why", "what" and "how" are the questions that will be answered for each necessary step during engineering analysis. Proper modeling and meshing techniques, and extraction and interpretation of the results (derived from simulations) will be taught. Course Certificates and Digital Badges* will be issued to passing students.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
The course is intended to provide students with the necessary fundamental knowledge about applications of ANSYS APDL for engineering analysis. After completing the course successfully, the students should be able to:
1. Understand the reason behind every step in implementing ANSYS APDL for engineering analysis and find solutions to new challenges by using the help documentation efficiently.
2. Demonstrate capability to model and analyze engineering problems using ANSYS APDL.
3. Extract, interpret and present results professionally.

Week One: Introduction to ANSYS APDL
Week Two: Fundamentals and stages in ANSYS APDL analysis with basic examples
Week Three: Modelling, Meshing, Applying loads and boundary conditions
Week Four: Setting solution features, Post-processing
Week Five: Examples covering the topics covered in previous weeks
Week Six: Final Exam Period

CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS
All cancellations must be received in writing by course start to receive a refund.
Cancellations of confirmed registrations are subject to a $20 administrative fee. No refunds for cancellations or non-attendance will be given after the start of the course.
Substitutions may be made any time before the beginning of the course by informing the Office of Industrial Outreach.
If the course is canceled, enrollees will be advised and receive a full refund.
